Opening of the Centre

   On September 29, 2004 the Cultural and Educational Centre of Children’s Art “Baxtli bolalar” (“Happy children”) for orphans and children from needy families was established by the Fund. This newly built complex will allow inmates of children’s homes and boarding-schools of Tashkent to pass their leisure time attending the studio of ballet-dancing, folk dancing circle, learning to play national instruments and playing in the consort. The complex has a good library and a chess club, the computer class gives children the opportunity to get acquainted with the basics of computer literacy and Internet. Girls and boys will be able to attend such circles as dress-making, television and radio repair, art of cookery. After completing their education at the Centre the children will get diplomas that will serve as solid basis for further professional education and future work. After classes in the sections and circles the children will have meals in a wonderful newly built canteen equipped at the latest standard.
     The ceremonial opening was visited by public representatives, city administration officials, representatives from embassies and international organisations accredited to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
     The opening programme included a concert with the participation of Uzbek artists and inmates of children’s homes.
     As soon as the concert was over the participants of the ceremony were invited to the festive dinner.
